Attwood Equestrian Surfaces Awards Championship Coolers to Amateur Master Riders at Stable View Series
Middleburg, VA – When Stable View in Aiken, SC, announced in January of this year The Mary Alice Brown, DVM – Amateur Master Rider Series, it was a generous nod to the older amateur riders who compete against professionals and riders often half their age. Attwood Equestrian Surfaces, the official footing supplier to Stable View, decided to take this award one step further by sponsoring championship coolers for winning Amateur Master competitors at the August “Too Hot To Trot” Dressage Show and Oktoberfest Advanced Horse Trials.
“We deal regularly with professionals, the riders who are at the top of this sport whose total focus is training and competing. So it’s really fun to be pulling out the stops for those riders who are often balancing riding and training with busy personal and professional responsibilities,” said Nick Attwood, President of Attwood Equestrian Surfaces. “These championship coolers are a simple acknowledgement to all the hours of training, hard work and practice necessary for these riders to get out to compete.”
The first AES Amateur Master Rider Championship Cooler will be awarded to the winner of the Mary Alice Brown Perpetual Trophy at the June 24-25 Horse Trials. This trophy will be awarded each year by Stable View to the individual Amateur Master Rider in the Beginner Novice division with the lowest cumulative penalty score from 2 of the 3 horse trials within the annual series.
The next cooler will be awarded to the highest scoring Amateur Master competitor at the August 9th “Too Hot To Trot” Dressage Show, which is a GAIG/USDF Regional Championship Qualifier. “This dressage shows are so popular here at Stable View,” said Amber Lee, Show Manager/Secretary at the farm, “that having this added prize for Adult Amateurs is a well deserved pat on the back for them.”
To round out the series, the last AES Cooler will be presented to the lowest scoring Amateur Master competitors at the Beginner Novice division at the September 29-October 1 Oktoberfest Advanced Horse Trials. All competitors vying for the cooler must hold their Amateur status and be 50 years old by the time of the competition.
