The Thoroughbred Music & Arts Festival
June 27 & 28, 2015 at Stable View Farm
When Rob Penland started planning the Thoroughbred Music & Arts Festival he decided on Aiken as the location based on its centralized location, vibrant community, and great venues. His plan for the festival is to “attract a new kind of crowd,” and bring in some festival-goers who may be of a more mature audience. The set-list he is planning involves all kinds of great genres, from classic rock, to blues, to folk. There will be something for people from all walks of life.
Rob’s internet radio station, The Mad Musical Asylum, was started back in June of last year. Rob had grown tired of hearing the repetitive American Top 40, and its alternative, the repetitive loop that is classic rock radio. His station’s playlist consists of all kinds of artists, new and old. You’re likely to hear an old artist’s song that you’ve never heard before, or a brand new indie band that shows a lot of potential.
The Thoroughbred Music & Arts Festival brings Rob’s musical ideals to the stage, by incorporating a strong variety of music that will appeal to everyone. However; if you aren’t enticed by the musical selection, you should definitely check out the gallery of artists and artisans that will be present. You can see works from artists throughout the Southeast, and maybe even a few from further away!
The Thoroughbred Music & Arts Festival will be a sight to see, and a welcome event in Stable View’s growing calendar of activities. Bringing in fresh ideas and events is just another way we at Stable View are creating “A Gathering Place.” So come join us for a fun day of good music, great art, and excellent food. See you June 27th & 28th!
