Olympians Partner at Stable View For the Sport of Eventing!
The past few days have been an amazing partnership of Olympians, as we at Stable View had a front row seat to watch our resident Olympian, Boyd Martin, open up his barn to international super-star, William Fox-Pitt. We were able to keep William for a few more days, with the promise of a ride on Tura Lura, for the Open Prelim division which ran yesterday.
The highlight of the week has certainly been watching Boyd and William Fox-Pitt prepare for their competitions together. As previously reported, the owners of Tura Lura and Steady Eddie graciously stepped forward with their horses for William to compete during his visit here to Stable View and Wellington.
William fared quite well yesterday, edging out Boyd by finishing on his dressage score of a 21.5 to take the second prize. In fact, the top 3 all finished on their dressage score with Waylon Roberts impressing the judges with a 17.5, and Boyd rounding out the top 3 on a 25.2. This was certainly a nice cruise around for these 3 gentlemen, and a perfect start to the 2017 season. FULL RESULTS

At the conclusion of the horse trials, it was time to switch gears for the Wellington prep. Several of Boyd’s owners gathered at the covered arena to watch Boyd and William school the horses heading south to Florida for the showcase. Shadow and Boyd were looking in prime form, and William has been quick to figure out the best ride on Eddie the Eagle. Again, many thanks to the owners of Tura Lura and Steady Eddie for making their horses available while William has been in town to teach clinics and compete state side.
And now a few words from WFP………..We wish him the best of luck in Florida!
We’ll have more at the conclusion of today’s event, which will include coverage of our Beginner Novice – Training divisions and the BN Master riders who are competing for the Dr Mary Alice Brown Amateur Master Series! It’s not just about the Olympians here at Stable View, so stay tuned!
